
Matt Fischer
Matt Fischer has been a leader at the intersection of media, entertainment, and technology for over 25 years. He spent 21 years at Apple (2003-2024), where he served as a Vice President overseeing Apple's global App Store business. His responsibilities included managing the App Stores for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Apple TV, iMessage, Apple Vision Pro, and Mac, along with Apple’s game subscription service, Apple Arcade. Under Matt’s leadership, the App Store reached over one billion customers worldwide, with Apple developers generating over $1 trillion in total billings and sales in the App Store ecosystem annually.
In this role, Matt built and led a large, diverse, global team and oversaw all aspects of the App Store business, including revenue generation, customer acquisition, customer retention, editorial, marketing, and product strategy. He directly managed functions such as Business Management, Business Development, Business Operations, Consumer Marketing, Developer Marketing, Editorial & Production, Product Management, and Product Marketing, while providing strategic direction to shared services in Design, Engineering, Finance, Legal, and Operations. Before overseeing the App Store, Matt led U.S. marketing and business development for iTunes at Apple.
Prior to his tenure at Apple, Matt held marketing leadership roles with several media technology companies, including Napster, myplay, CDNOW, and N2K.
Matt earned a BA with Distinction from the University of Virginia in the Political and Social Thought Distinguished Majors Program.
Today, Matt and his wife, Renee, reside in the Bay Area with their teenage sons and their golden doodle, Finn. He enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, sports, and pursuing his love of music through piano, cello, and singing.
