Chelsey Ziegler
Chelsey Ziegler is currently an Associate General Counsel at the Heising-Simons Foundation, where she works primarily with the Foundation’s Climate Solutions, Science and Journalism grant making programs.
Prior to Heising-Simons, Chelsey was in-house counsel at the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation for 8 years working on a range of issues, including their robust impact investment portfolio.
Chelsey began her legal career in the Business and Finance group at the Chicago-based law firm, Horwood, Marcus & Berk where she advised private equity and venture capital funds. While there, she also helped grow the Firm’s Social Impact and Philanthropy Subgroup.
In addition, Chelsey is the co-founder of Rooted Beings, which is nature-based Meditation Collective & Community. She is a writer on mindful motherhood and has a book coming out in Fall 2024 on meditation and breathwork practices that aid in the transition of matrescence (becoming a mother).
Chelsey holds a JD from University of Miami School of Law and a BA in Finance from Michigan State University.
